Breaking Broadway is a ground-breaking musical theatre showcase designed to empower disabled adults who may not have had the opportunity to perform in a traditional musical theatre production. This show will be a collection of songs from various musicals, sung and performed by adults who identify as disabled. While we are still in the planning stages, we have hopefully added some more information down below. Please email us at info@hopeinaharmony.org with any questions, concerns, or inquiries about getting involved

I understand how important it is for disabled individuals, especially those on the autism spectrum, to feel well prepared and plan ahead. Knowing this is an opportunity they can prepare for may help the process.

The only requirement to audition is to be able to sing independently. This program is designed for those who have always wanted to audition for a show, or may have auditioned for a show but was not offered a role, due to their disability.
The participants will not be chosen based on support needs, but rather their ability to sing independently and hold a tune. -
Yes, you are not required to read music. Songs will be chosen by the participants, and there will be 2 group numbers that will be learned together.

Avery, the founder and artistic director, is not certified, however she does have an AuDHD diagnosis and has 2 children on the autism spectrum. She has a wide range of experience with developmental disorders.
The rest of the creative team will be chosen very carefully, and if needed we will make sure we have extra support volunteers who have experience.
